Islamabad January 3 2023: The federal government has ordered to close all markets across the country at 8:30 and marriage halls at 10 to save energy.
During the press conference after the cabinet meeting, the federal ministers said that in view of the economic crisis, we need to change our lifestyle.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that all marriage halls will be closed at 10 pm and markets will close at 8:30 pm.
He said that the Prime Minister has directed to bring 30% reduction in electricity in all the offices of the federal institutions. "Only 50 percent of the street lights in the country will be kept on."
Khawaja Asif expressed the hope that by closing marriage halls, restaurants and markets early, '62 billion rupees will be saved.'
Meanwhile, he also said that electric bikes or e-bikes will be promoted across the country to save energy.
