Islamabad May 3 2025: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has achieved a significant milestone by recording a 30% month-on-month growth in tax collection for April 2025, surpassing the 28% growth registered up to March.
This robust performance has enabled the FBR to exceed the full-year revenue target of PKR 9,300 billion set for the previous fiscal year.
The momentum in revenue collection remained strong despite the issuance of PKR 43 billion in tax refunds during the month.
Segment-wise data shows remarkable growth across key categories: income tax rose by 44%, sales tax increased by 17%, and federal excise duty (FED) posted a 31% rise. These figures reflect sustained economic activity and improved tax compliance, positioning the FBR on a solid path toward continued fiscal progress.
