Karachi January 31 2023: Pakistan Rupee gains PKR 4.57 against dollar in Interbank as authorities start discussion with IMF team to conclude 9th review of Extended Fund Facility.
Government officials said IMF mission chief for Pakistan Nathan Porter had already arrived in Islamabad to start a technical discussion with authorities on Tuesday (today), which would continue till Friday (Feb 3). Completion of the review would help the country to get tranche of USD 1.2 billion from IMF.
Pakistan Rupee gains PKR 4.57 or 1.7 percent in Interbank to trade at PKR 265.06 at PST 11:10. During the last three days Rupee lost 14.4 percent or PKR 38.74 against the dollar in Interbank.
Bloomberg calculations show the free-floating rupee should stabilize at 266 to the dollar.
