Islamabad November 16 2022: The Large Scale Manufacturing Index (LSMI) output increased by 0.01% for September, 2022 when compared with September, 2021 and 0.1% when compared with August 2022, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Overall Large Scale Manufacturing Sector has shown a decline of 0.4% during July-September 2022-23 when compared with the same period of last year.
The main contributors towards overall growth of -0.4% are, Garments (5.0), Petroleum Products (-1.4), Cement (-1.4), Pharmaceuticals (-1.8), Iron & Steel Products (0.2) and Automobiles (-1.5).
The production in July-September 2022-23 as compared to July-September 2021-22 has increased in Wearing apparel, Chemicals, Iron & Steel products, and Furniture while it decreased in Food, Tobacco, Textile, Coke & Petroleum Products, Pharmaceuticals, Rubber Products, NonMetallic Mineral Products, Fabricated metal, Electrical Equipment, Machinery and Equipment, Automobiles and Other Transport Equipment.
