ISLAMABAD February 10 2022: Pakistan managed to full fill the IMF requirement of primary deficit of PKR 96 billion till end of December 2022.
As per IMF requirement we have to close March at deficit of PKR 389 billion and till June we should have primary surplus of PKR 25 billion.
However, the primary surplus has declined to PKR 81 billion during 1HFY22 due to primary deficit of PKR 103 billion during 2QFY22.
Pakistan’s overall fiscal deficit in the first six months of the current fiscal year increased to 1.2 percent of GDP or PKR 1,372 billion, which is 21 percent higher than last year’s six months of PKR 1,138 billion.
