Lahore November 26 2024: Kot Addu Power Company, the largest power plant of Pakistan, offers to provide 120 MW which can light up to 7,500 houses of Karachi at a rate of PKR 9.8319 per unit.
The offered rate is 71 percent cheaper than the current average tariff of K-electric excluding PKR 9 per unit subsidy provided by governments.
“The company inform that the Company’s bid for the proposed K-Electric solar project to be set-up at Deh Halkani, District West, Karachi, for 120 MW (the “Project”) is the lowest bid at proposed bid tariff of 9.8319 PKR/kWh (3.4061 Cents/kWh at reference exchange rate for USD/PKR 288.65)” states Kot Addu Power Company in its filing to Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The competitive bidding for the Project was carried out by K-Electric under the NEPRA (Electric Power Procurement Regulations), 2022. The formal award for the Project to the Company will be subject to approval from NEPRA based on the Report of Auction and Evaluation Committee of K-Electric.
