Pakistan Household Item Prices Fall After Eid

Fall In Tomatoes And Potatoes Prices Eased Pakistan Household Inflation

Islamabad June 28 2024: Pakistan household inflation index, SPI, for the current week ended on June 27, 2024 decreased by 0.73 percent.

Major decrease is observed in the prices of Tomatoes (25.25 percent), Chicken (14.20 percent), Onions (3.90 percent), Garlic (2.80 percent), Bread (0.81 percent), Rice Basmati Broken (0.15 percent), Eggs (0.09 percent) and Rice IRRI (0.04 percent).

On the other hand, increase is observed in the prices of LPG (5.38 percent), Pulse Gram (4.72 percent), Pulse Moong (3.20 percent), Cooked Daal (1.87 percent), Pulse Masoor (1.79 percent), Potatoes (0.99 percent), Gur (0.87 percent), Bananas and Wheat Flour (0.61 percent) each, Pulse Mash (0.32 percent) and Firewood (0.20 percent).

During the week, out of 51 items, prices of 18 (35.29 percent) items increased, 8 (15.69 percent) items decreased and 25 (49.02 percent) items remained stable.

The year on year trend depicts increase of 22.88 percent, Gas Charges for Q1 (570.00 percent), Tomatoes (117.52 percent), Onions (113.98 percent), Chilies Powder (54.81 percent), Garlic (36.61 percent), Shirting (30.75 percent), Salt Powder (29.49 percent), Pulse Gram (28.45 percent), Gents Sandal (25.01 percent), Pulse Mash (22.99 percent), Pulse Moong (22.50 percent) and Electricity Charges for Q1 (21.46 percent) while decrease is observed in the prices of Wheat Flour (32.49 percent), Chicken (31.87 percent), Cooking Oil 5 Litre (15.98 percent), Vegetable Ghee 2.5 Kg (13.29 percent), Vegetable Ghee 1 Kg (12.31 percent), Bananas (11.15 percent), Mustard Oil (8.07 percent), Tea Lipton (2.52 percent) and Petrol (1.38 percent).
