Islamabad January 12 2024: Pakistan household inflation, measured by the SPI, for the current week ended on January 11, 2024 increased by 1.36 percent, notified by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Major increase is observed in the prices of Tomatoes (15.63 percent), Onions (8.94 percent), Chicken (6.42 percent), Electricity Charges for Q1 (5.11 percent), Eggs (4.31 percent), Match Box (2.56 percent), Gur (2.30 percent), LPG (2.29 percent), Pulse Gram (2.11 percent), Energy Sever (1.40 percent), Pulse Mash (0.83 percent) and Rice IRRI-6/9 (0.67 percent).
On the other hand decrease is observed in the prices of Potatoes (5.92 percent), Vegetable Ghee 1 KG (0.84 percent), Sugar (0.43 percent), Vegetable Ghee 2.5 KG (0.29 percent), Mustard Oil (0.26 percent), Cooking Oil 5 Litre (0.17 percent), Garlic (0.13 percent) and Pulse Moong (0.06 percent).
During the week, out of 51 items, prices of 21 (41.18 percent) items increased, 08 (15.68 percent) items decreased and 22 (43.14 percent) items remained stable.
The year on year trend depicts increase of 44.16 percent, Gas Charges for Q1 (1108.59 percent), Tomatoes (155.83 percent), Cigarettes (93.22 percent), Chilies Powder (81.74 percent), Garlic (60.43 percent), Gents Sponge Chappal (58.05 percent), Sugar (57.20 percent), Wheat Flour (55.26 percent), Gents Sandal (53.37 percent), Rice IRRI-6/9 (51.57 percent), Gur (50.58 percent) and Rice Basmati Broken (46.91 percent), while decrease is observed in the prices of Mustard Oil (7.10 percent), Onions (6.68 percent), Vegetable Ghee 1 KG (1.67 percent) and Bananas (1.53 percent).
