Karachi December 28 2023: The foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) saw an increase of USD 852 million in the past week mainly due to receipt of official Government of Pakistan inflows, according to data released by the Central Bank.
As of December 22nd, 2023, the current level of SBP reserves is USD 7,757.1 million.
During the same time frame, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks decreased by USD 65 million, reaching USD 5,098.6 million as of December 22nd, 2023.
Overall, the country’s total reserves experienced an increase of USD 787 million, reaching USD 12,855.7 million by the week ending on December 22nd, 2023.
