Karachi June 1 2023: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) foreign exchange reserves for the week ending May 26, 2023, were down by USD 102 million to USD 4,091 million as per data released by the Central Bank.
SBP reserves decrease due to external debt repayment, according to Central Bank statement.
At present, SBP reserves stand at the level of USD 4,091 million as of 26th May 2023 compared to USD 4,193 million at the end of the week ending 19th May 2023.
During the same period, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks decreased by USD 116 million to the level of USD 5,422 million as of 26th May 2023.
Overall reserves held by the country witnessed a decrease of USD 218 million to USD 9,513 million during the week ending 26th May 2023.
