Karachi June 9 2023: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) foreign exchange reserves for the week ending June 2, 2023, were down by USD 179 million to USD 3,912.2 million as per data released by the Central Bank.
SBP reserves decrease due to external debt repayment, according to Central Bank statement.
At present, SBP reserves stand at the level of USD 3,912 million as of 2nd June 2023 compared to USD 4,090 million at the end of the week ending 26th May 2023.
During the same period, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks remained unchanged at USD 5,422 million as of 2nd June 2023.
Overall reserves held by the country witnessed a decrease of USD 179 million to USD 9,335 million during the week ending 2nd June 2023.
