Islamabad May 11, 2023: As per the latest data shared by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales plunged by 84.7 percent year on year to 2,844 units during the month of April 2023.
As compared to the same last month, auto sales also decreased by 61 percent. Auto sales decreased due to issues in opening of Letter of Credits.
Sales of Civic and City decreased by 92 percent year on year to 159 units when compared to the sales of April 2022. Honda sold 48 units of BRV during April 2023, which is down up 86.8 percent year on year. Overall sales of Honda Cars decreased by 92.1 percent year on year to 207 units.
Suzuki Swift sales hit the most among Pak Suzuki variants by 94 percent year on year to 145 units from 2,273 units. While Bolan sales were down by 81 percent year on year to 163 units during April 2023 from 860 units. Sales of Alto also declined by 82 percent to 820 units compared to 4,609 units in April 2022. Overall sales of Pak Suzuki Motor decreased by 88 percent year on year to 1,474 units during April 2023.
Combined sales of Corolla and Yaris decreased by 76 percent year on year to 1,007 units during April 2023. Sales of Fortuner and Hilux also decreased by 43 percent year on year to 741 units. Overall sales of Indus Motor Company decreased by 66 percent year on year to 1,948 units.
Sales of Tucson decreased by 43 percent year on year to 315 units when compared to the sales of April 2022. Hyundai sold 136 units of Porter during April 2023, which is lower by 32 percent year on year. Overall sales of Hyundai decreased by 44 percent year on year to 725 units.
Sazgar sold 61 units and 28 units of Haval and BAIC compares with sales of 100 units and 18 units in the previous month.
