NEPRA Determined Relief Of Upto PKR 3.763 Per Unit In Electricity Bills For Next Three Months

Islamabad January 21 2022: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has allowed to pass on the negative amount of PKR 22,479 million pertaining to the adjustments of 4th quarter of the FY 2020-21.

NEPRA has determined a negative rate of PKR 1.1407/kWh for GEPCO, PKR 2.336/kWh for HESCO, PKR 0.4650/kWh for TESCO/kWh, PKR 3.7623/kWh for SEPCO, PKR 2.1197/kWh for QESCO, PKR 0.1418/kWh for IESCO, PKR 0.5299/kWh for LESCO, PKR 1.1094/kWh for FESCO, PKR 0.8089/kWh for MEPCO and PKR 0.8573/kWh for PESCO. On uniform basis NEPRA has determined reduction of PKR 0.9908/kWh.

This quarterly adjustment is based on the information submitted by CPPA-G, adjustment requests filed by XWDISCOs and keeping in view the afore-mentioned adjustment, the amount of quarterly adjustment for the 4th Quarter of FY 2020-2 1 has been worked out as negative PKR 22,479 million on account of variation in Capacity charges, Variable O&M, Use of System Charges, Market Operator Fee and FCA impact on T&D losses.

The relief will be provided across each category of consumers of XWDISCOs (except lifeline and protected category consumers), based on notified projected sales, after excluding therefrom the sales to life line and protected category consumers, to be recovered in three (03) months period, with effect from 1st February 2022.
