Lahore July 23 2022: On the request of Pervez Elahi on the issue of election of Chief Minister Punjab, the Supreme Court has said in its order that Hamza Shehbaz will work as a trustee of the Chief Minister till Monday.
A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry heard the request of Parvez Elahi on the issue of Chief Minister Punjab.
The court, giving a decision on the petition, said that Hamza Shahbaz will work as a trustee of the Chief Minister till Monday. The powers of the Chief Minister will be limited and all appointments will be based on merit. If appointments are made outside of merit made on political grounds then they will be annulled. They will not do anything for profit, the Supreme Court will keep a check on the Chief Minister orders, while the ruling of the Deputy Speaker is contrary to the decision of the Supreme Court.
