Four Month Long Operation In Sindh ANF Recovers Narcotics Worth Million Dollars In Last Three Days

Karachi August 26, 2021: Federal Minister for Narcotics Control, Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah chaired the meeting to finalize anti drug strategy and operation in Sindh.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Federal Minister Asad Umar, Sindh Leader of the opposition Haleem Aadil Shaikh, Firdaus Shamim Naqvi and senior officials attended the meeting.

Force Commander ANF Sindh briefed the participants over the current drug spread situation in Sindh and also shared details of 4 months long operation. This operation is going to be launched on 1st September 2021 and will conclude on 31st December 2021.

The participants of the meeting mutually agreed on forming anti Narcotics committees on district level to assist anti drug operations.

Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Brig (R) Ijaz Shah said that formation of the committees has started in Punjab already. Governor Sindh and Federal Minister Asad Umar welcomed the suggestion and said the same will implemented in Sindh. The country's stance is one and we stand united against the menace of drugs, Ijaz Ahmad Shah said.

The Federal Minister for Narcotics Control suggested that Governor Sindh being the chancellor should take the lead and ensure that all educational institutions in Sindh achieve drug free status. The Governor welcomed the suggestion and promised immediate implementation.

Federal Minister Asad Umar said that eradication of drugs is one of the foremost priorities of Prime Minister Imran Khan and cabinet will provide full support to eliminate this menace from society. He also said that each and every segment of our society is affected by drugs and we must ensure that we achieve our goal of drug free society.

All relevant stakeholders must be taken on board to ensure maximum success, Haleem Aadil said. All participants ensured maximum cooperation to fight drugs. Federal Secretary for Narcotics Control Akbar Durrani and other senior officials attended the meeting.
