Karachi February 24 2022: Foreign exchange reserves held by State Bank of Pakistan decrease by USD 289 million during the week ending February 18, 2022, as per data released by the Central Bank.
The main reason of this decrease in foreign exchange reserves is external debt repayments.

Current Account Deficit Rose to all time high of USD 2.6 billion in January 2022: SBP
At present, SBP reserves stands at the level of USD 16.807 billion as of 18th February 2022 compared to USD 17.095 billion at the end of week ending 11th February 2022.
During the same period, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks increased by USD 25 million to the level of USD 6.420 billion as of 18th February 2022.
Overall reserves held by country witnessed a decrease of USD 264 million during the week of 18th February 2022.
