Karachi May 21 2022: Foreign direct investment (FDI) during April 2022 witnessed net inflow of USD 171 million, compared to net inflow of USD 169 million during April 2021, data published by State Bank of Pakistan.
During 10MFY22, net FDI decreased by 2 percent YoY to USD 1,456 million.
During April 2022, net inflow from USA witnessed at USD 40.3 million followed by USD 22.3 million from China.
FDI from China is down by 61% in April 2022 from USD 57.4 million in April 2021.
China’s share in FDI remained the highest investors with a share of 24 percent during 10MFY22 to USD 356 million compared with USD 700 million during same period last year. Net inflow from United States remained at USD 223 million during 10MFY22 compared with USD 113 million during same period last year.
During 10MFY22, net inflow in power sector remained USD 529 million followed by Financial Business Sector USD 347 million and Oil & Gas Explorations Sector USD 185 million.
In Power sector, during 10MFY22 net inflow in Coal based power plants reached to USD 283 million compared to net inflow of USD 471 million during same period last year.
Telecommunications, Beverages and Petroleum Refining sector witnessed a net out flow of USD 76 million, 21 million and USD 14 million during 10MFY22, respectively.
