Karachi July 25 2022: After announcement of Government of Sindh, Federal Government in an official notification issued on 24th July 2002 in the wake of torrential monsoon rains declares Monday 25th July 2022 as public holiday for the Federal Government offices located throughout Karachi and Hyderabad Divisions, except for the essential services and departments/entities engaged in rain emergency and COVID-19 emergency duties.
“Its been raining nonstop since early morning and severity of rainfall has increased in the last hour or so. Will request people to avoid unnecessary movement. The entire administration is still on ground & relief work will start as soon as the rain stops.” says Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Law, Administrator of Karachi and Spokesman Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab.
“The intermittent showers are expected to continue till 12pm tomorrow,” forecast Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) chief meteorologist Sarfaraz , adding that the current spell of monsoon rain is likely to continue for the next three days.
