Dhaka July 3 2023: Bangladesh exported merchandize exports of USD 55.5 billion in fiscal year 2023, almost double than that of Pakistan exports of USD 27.7 billion in the same period.
Last year Bangladesh exports were 65 percent higher than that of Pakistan.
According to data released by Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladesh exported goods of USD 55.5 billion in fiscal year 2023, which runs from July to June, which is 6.67 percent higher when compared with exports of USD 52.1 billion in fiscal year 2022.
Majority of the Bangladesh exports, nearly 85 percent of total goods exports, comes from Knit Wear and Woven Garments. Bangladesh exported knit wears of USD 25.7 billion in fiscal year 2023, 10.8 percent higher than the previous year while woven garments exports increased by 9.56 percent to USD 21.2 billion in fiscal year 2023.
Whereas, Pakistan exports decreased by 12.7 percent to USD 27.7 billion in fiscal year 2023, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Pakistan textile exports, forms nearly 60 percent of country’s goods exports, decreased by 15 percent to USD 16.5 billion in fiscal year 2023.
