Islamabad May 5 2023: The case of simultaneous elections across the country has been fixed for hearing, which will be heard tomorrow.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice will hear it. Besides the Chief Justice, the bench includes Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
It should be noted that Tehreek-e-Insaf has submitted a report in the court about the negotiations with the government regarding the elections in a single day.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court has allotted a number to the Election Commission revision petition in the case related to conducting elections in Punjab.
The Election Commission had applied to review the April 4 decision.
In the petition, it was requested that the court is not authorized to give the date of election. The decision to hold election on May 14 should be reconsidered.
In the appeal, it was said that neither funds nor security were received for the elections, while even the ballot papers could not be printed.
