Karachi September 22 2022: Foreign direct investment (FDI) during first two months of this fiscal year witnessed a net inflow of USD 169 million, compared to a net inflow of USD 229.5 million during the same period last year, State Bank of Pakistan revealed today.
During the month of August 2022, net FDI decreased by 12 percent year on year to USD 110.7 million.
During August 2022, net inflow from China was witnessed at USD 28.1 million followed by USD 12.8 million from UAE.
China’s share in FDI remained the highest among investors with a share of 25.4 percent during August 2022 with value of USD 28.1 million compared with USD 44 million during the same month last year. Net inflow from UAE remained at USD 12.8 million during August 2022 compared with USD 7.6 million during the same month last year.
During August 2022, net inflow in the power sector remained at USD 49.8 million followed by Financial Business Sector (USD 23.0 million) and the Communications Sector (USD 14.4 million).
